My husband, Robert King, and I feel that you should know of the outstanding help Cynthia is giving us in our efforts to gain a modification on our mortgage with Harris Bank. We have been working since early June with someone in your negotiation department. She was unable to get any satisfaction at all from Harris. In early July they told her they had no modification plan but would have one in August. She put our name on their list at that time so that we would have earlier consideration as the list would be getting longer. // About 10 days ago we were told that Harris was not doing any modifications after all, and that our negotiator was turning us over to your legal department. Then a couple of days after that we had unsettling news from the Maricopa County Clerk's office that the November 17 date for foreclosure was now official. I called your legal department, and much to my good fortune Cynthia picked up the phone. She had not as yet been given our file, but was surprised that we had been given the information by the negotiation department that Harris Bank was not offering modifications. She looked in the records and discovered that she was right, Harris was offering modifications. // She said "We'll just see what's going on here. I'll call them right now. Just hold on." Within about two minutes she had the Bank on the phone and a man named Nico was saying, "We will give you a six-month extension." It was incredible to me that Cynthia acted so immediately, obviously knew exactly how to handle whoever was on the end of the phone, and that it had such instantaneous positive results. We were far behind on our mortgage and the house was to be sold in at a foreclosure sale. We did not care any more about the house, the gardens were full of weeds and the grass was yellow, we were packed and ready to move into a small apartment.
